3. Test methodology

A manual accessibility check was conducted by a third party independent of the informant. The audit consists of manual validation of the WCAG success criteria with specialized tools (if necessary) and feedback tests with screen readers.

Several tests have been carried out to verify the conformity of the site. However, these tests may differ depending on the browser and the assistive technology used. If problems occur while using the website, please let us know at: accessibility@lacompagnie.com

5. Test results

The criteria tested are all WCAG 2.0 (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/) Level A and Dual Level A (AA) WCAG 2.0 criteria (). As of the date of issuance of the certificate of conformity, all applicable criteria are in compliance, with the exception of some for which the non-accessible content is identified below.

5.1. Content not accessible

The site audit reveals full compliance with WCAG 2.0 and A (AA) Level A criteria with the following exceptions:

  • Downloadable PDF documents are processed to become accessible.
  • The language change is not yet available for all content.
  • A total compliance upgrade is currently in progress;
  • Changes are still in progress to make all pages fully accessible.

6. Support/user support

6.2. Fast navigation

6.2.1 Quick access links

At the top of the page, quick access links provide access to the main menu, page content, or this help page.

6.2.2. Breadcrumb

On all pages - except the home page - you'll find a constant display at the top of the main content showing the name of the current page.

6.2.3. Browse reference points (reference roles)

If you navigate using a modern screen reader, you can access the menu areas, navigation, main content, and footer directly.

For Jaws, starting with version 10 with Windows, keyboard navigation works as follows:

  • Next benchmark:! (exclamation point)
  • Previous benchmark: SHIFT+! (exclamation point)
  • List of landmarks: CTRL + INS +! (exclamation point)


For NVDA starting with version 2014.3 with Windows, keyboard navigation works as follows:

  • Next benchmark: D
  • Previous benchmark: SHIFT + D
  • List of landmarks: NVDA + F7
  • For VoiceOver with macOS, in order to navigate the reference points, you need to choose “landmarks” in the “rotor” and then move down (iOS) with the up/down arrows (OSX) on the keyboard to move to the next or previous landmark.

7. Complex components and operation of the form and reservation system

7.1. Modal window

A modal window is a page element that is superimposed on the rest of the page like an alert message. It's not a new window or a new tab. A modal window is part of the content of the page that has been opened.

If you are using a screen reader, when a modal window opens:

NVDA announces “Dialogue [Name]”;
Jaws announces “Dialog box [name]”
When a modal window is open, the TAB key allows you to go to all the items in the modal window. Navigation is restricted to the window as long as it is open.

To close the window, you can use the “close button” or the ESC key.

7.2. Calendar

In the search forms, you will find the date field for interactive calendars. These calendars are not accessible to screen readers for whom the input fields remain editable to enter the desired dates. Please note that the calendar does not contain any information required to complete the form (no inactive date or flight information).

For users navigating with a keyboard, the calendar can be used as follows: In the input field:

  • The down arrow allows users to reach the same day in the following week;
  • The up arrow allows users to reach the same day of the previous week;
  • The right arrow allows users to reach the next day;
  • The left arrow allows users to go to the previous day;
  • The date is updated in the input field with each change of focus in the calendar. Validate by tabulating out of the field or by typing enter. You will be redirected to the next element (another field or validation button).


7.3. Tabulation system

At the end of the reservation process, you will find a system of tabs allowing you to define the last options to finalize your order.

A tab system is a list of signs that can be activated via links (tabs) displaying content. Once one tab is activated, the others are no longer visible.

Once the content is visible, the TAB key allows you to access the content of the selected sign.

When you arrive on a tabbed system, you are on the title of the first tab (by default, it is the first tab in the system to be visible);


If you are using a screen reader:

  • NVDA announces “tab, [name], tab selected 1 out of X” where “X” is the total number of tabs;
  • Jaws announces “tab [name] 1 on X”;
  • VoiceOver announces “Sign 1, tab selected 1 out of X,” where “X” is the total number of tabs.
  • The right and left arrows allow you to navigate from one tab title to another, activating their associated content;
  • The TAB key allows users to reach the displayed sign or one of its components;


At this point, you can browse the contents of the activated tab. The TAB key allows users to access interactive content elements.
To go through the list of tab titles again, tab until the focus reaches the title of the active tab.
